Woman dies after dispute

November 25, 2002|by STACEY DANZUSO

A Guilford Township woman was shot and killed during a domestic dispute Sunday afternoon, Pennsylvania State Police said.

Police would not identify the woman Sunday night because her next of kin had not been notified.

Sgt. James Brown, commander of the Chambersburg barrack of the state police, said police had a man in custody charged with criminal homicide.

"The investigation is ongoing, and we're collecting evidence," Brown said. "We have the guy in custody, so there is no threat to the community."

Brown said the domestic argument erupted Sunday afternoon at a residence off Molly Pitcher Highway in Guilford Township and ended with the shooting.

He said an autopsy is scheduled for this morning, which will determine the official cause of death.

Brown could not provide further details on the murder Sunday night because the victim's family lives outside Franklin County and had not been notified.
