Flu clinics scheduled

November 22, 2002

The Washington County Health Department will hold two flu shot clinics.

  • On Saturday, North Hagerstown High School will host a flu shot clinic from 8:30 to 11:30 a.m.

  • On Tuesday, Nov. 26, from 3 to 7 p.m., flu shots will be given at the Hancock Community Center at 26 W. High St.

In each case, donations of $8 will be sought. Those attending the clinics are asked to bring Medicare cards if qualified.

Flu shots are recommended for people 65 and older, those who will be pregnant during the flu season, have a chronic health problem or immune deficiency, or are caregivers to high-risk people.

Only children with asthma, cystic fibrosis or other serious illnesses should get flu shots.

Transportation can be provided by Washington County Commission on Aging provided 48-hours notice is given by calling 301-790-0275.
