Tree stands

API Outdoors has recalled about 9,000 tree stands used by hunters.

A cable that secures the stand to the tree can break.

The recalled tree stands have the following brand names and model

numbers: API Hi-Point Cable Cat Climbing Tree Stand Model #CC501 and API

Buckmaster Grand Slam Climbing Tree Stand Model #GS3800BM.

Consumers should stop using the tree stands and call API Outdoors at 1-866-215-2419 to receive a free replacement chain.

Snake lights

The Carlisle Co. Inc. has recalled about 5,000 snake lights.

The circuit board in the lamps can overheat and melt the plastic housing, posing a fire or burn hazard.

The recalled lights were made in China and have the model number


8311, which can be found on the package. The blue, red, green, or multi-colored lights are about 17 inches high and have a curved, colored piece of glass (the bulb) that inserts into a black base.

When the snake light is turned on it gives off the appearance of "lightning" running through the lamp and into the bulb. "Snake Light" is written on the bottom of the light.

Chuck E. Cheese's restaurants nationwide provided the lights as a redemption prize from July through September.

Consumers should stop using the lights, unplug them and return them to any Chuck E. Cheese restaurant for a replacement prize of the same value. Consumers also can call the Carlisle Co. at 1-800-233-3931.


Kohl's Department Stores Inc. has recalled about 8,000 Halloween candleholders.

Flames from the tea-light candle can ignite the candleholder, posing a fire hazard and risk of burn injuries.

The recalled Halloween ghost candleholders are about 10 inches tall and are made of acrylic. The ghosts are white and hold a small orange pumpkin in which the tea-light candle sits. Two orange pumpkins are painted along the hem of the ghost.

Consumers should stop using the candleholders and return them to the store where purchased for a refund.

Skateboard ramps

Gen-X Sports Inc. has recalled about 88,000 skateboard ramps.

The ramps can crack, causing users to fall.

The recalled ramps include the Rage SSD (model 310937) and Skate Attack SSD (model 312912). The ramps are black and have a sticker with the Rage or Skate Attack logo and name on each side.

Consumers should stop using these ramps and contact Gen-X at 1-866-846-4369 or visit the firm's Web site at to receive a refund .
