The Colbourns

Joseph Leason Colbourn and Martha Byrd Howell Colbourn of Hagerstown celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary Friday, Oct. 18, 2002.

The Colbourns were married Oct. 18, 1952, at St. Mark's Cathedral in Baltimore.

They have six children and 17 grandchildren. They were honored at a party in Elkhart, Ind., this past July.

The Castles

Tom and Anna Castle of Hagerstown were honored for their 25th wedding anniversary at a surprise party Saturday, Oct. 12, 2002. The party was hosted by their daughter, Deanna Castle, and Mr. Castle's mother, Beatrice Rohrer. Friends and family attended the event.

The Castles were married Sept. 26, 1977.

Mrs. Castle is the daughter of Arlena Longerbeam and the late Robert Longerbeam. She is enrolled in the registered nursing program at Hagerstown Community College. She is employed as a geriatric nursing assistant at Washington County Hospital.


Mr. Castle is the son of Beatrice Rohrer and Robert Castle Sr. He is employed as a meat cutter for Food Lion.

The Snyders

David and Shirley Snyder of Quincy, Pa., celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary Saturday, July 20, 2002, at a family dinner at Nick's Airport Inn in Hagerstown. The dinner was hosted by their three children and three grandchildren.

The Snyders were married July 19, 1952.

Mr. and Mrs. Snyder are both retired.

The Ritchies

Florene and Charles Ritchie of Stone Manor Farm in Sharpsburg, have returned from a 21-day cruise in celebration of their 60th wedding anniversary.

The Ritchies were married Sept. 3, 1942, at Calvary Methodist Church in Frederick, Md.

The Ritchies have three sons, Dr. Charles E. Ritchie Jr. of St. Louis, Dr. Martin H. Ritchie of Sylvania, Ohio, and Tod R. Ritchie of Sharpsburg.

Mrs. Ritchie is a retired portrait artist.

Mr. Ritchie retired from a career in finance and insurance.
