Hub Annex site plan approved

November 14, 2002|by SCOTT BUTKI

HAGERSTOWN - The Hagerstown Planning Commission Wednesday approved a site plan for a proposed two-story Hub Annex building off Eastern Boulevard near Dual Highway.

The 9,730-square-foot Dahbura Enterprises LLC office building at 1125 Opal Court would be behind Hub Plaza, a three-story, 60,000-square-foot office building owned by the same company, according to the plan.

There would be an 89-space parking lot built between the two buildings, according to the plan.

The company has also proposed building a four-story, 80,000-square-foot office building adjacent to the Centre at Antietam Creek on Eastern Boulevard, across the street from Hub Plaza.

The company withdrew a proposal in late October to rezone five acres from residential to commercial general to accommodate building plans.

The proposal was withdrawn after the Hagerstown City Council made plans to put conditions on approval of the request.

One of the city's conditions was requiring the widening of part of Eastern Boulevard from two lanes to four.

The rezoning proposal was part of a joint request made with Kensington LLC, which wanted to rezone an adjacent 15-acre parcel fronting Eastern Boulevard. That company also withdrew its part of the request.
