Clyde R. Sayler

Clyde Richard Sayler, 79, of 205 Division Ave., Hagerstown, died Monday, Nov. 4, 2002, at Washington County Hospital.

Born March 2, 1923, in Motters Station, Md., he was the son of the late Oscar R. and Edna C. Smith Sayler.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Isabel F. Warehime Sayler.

He worked in the accounting department of Funkhouser/Ruberoid/GAF Corp. He retired in 1986 from Eastalco Aluminum in Frederick as supervisor of the payroll and accounts payable departments.

He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the First U.S. Army in Europe.

He was a member of Christ's Reformed Church United Church of Christ, where he served as elder and was a past treasurer.

He is survived by one daughter, Kathy L. Sayler of Hagerstown; one son, Bradley A. Sayler of Hagerstown; and two granddaughters.

He was preceded in death by one sister, Gladys Sayler Frymyer.

Services will be Thursday at 1 p.m. at Douglas A. Fiery Funeral Home, Hagerstown. The Rev. Don R. Stevenson will officiate. Burial will be in Cedar Lawn Memorial Park, Hagerstown.

The family will receive friends Wednesday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Helen M. Metcalfe

WAYNESBORO, Pa. - Helen M. Metcalfe, 92, of Hearthstone Retirement Home, and formerly of 35 N. Grant St., died Sunday, Nov. 3, 2002, at the home.

Born July 24, 1910, in Waynesboro, she was the daughter of the late Harry A. and Elsie Zook Metcalfe.

She was a graduate of Waynesboro High School and Shippensburg State Teachers' College.

She retired in 1972 after teaching for 36 years, mostly third grade, in the Waynesboro Area School District.

She was a member of Evangelical Lutheran Church, Waynesboro.

She was a member of Pennsylvania Association of School Retirees, Franklin County Chapter of the Pennsylvania Association of School Retirees, National Retired Teachers Association, South Chapter AARP 2977 of Waynesboro, National AARP and Delta Kappa Gamma Society.

She is survived by three nieces, Mary Ann Rhodes of Newville, Pa., Jean M. McClain of Fort Myers, Fla., and Frances Shue of Charlotte, N.C.

She was preceded in death by two sisters, Pauline Metcalfe and Elizabeth Sulzer.

Services will be Thursday at 2 p.m. at Grove-Bowersox Funeral Home, Waynesboro. The Rev. Richard A. Seaks will officiate. Burial will be in Green Hill Cemetery, Waynesboro.

The family will receive friends Thursday at 1 p.m. at the funeral home.

Armand F. Boucher

CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - A memorial service for Armand F. "Pete" Boucher, 57, of 704 Cumberland Ave., who died Friday, Nov. 1, 2002, will be Saturday, Nov. 23, at 2 p.m. at Salem United Brethren Church, Chambersburg.




Harry E. Brining III

Harry Edward Brining III, 55, of 10840 Oak Valley Drive, Hagerstown, died Monday, Nov. 4, 2002, at Washington County Hospital.

Born Aug. 27, 1947, in Hagerstown, he was the son of the late Harry Edward Brining Jr. and Dorothy Mildred Itneyer Brining.

He was a 1965 graduate of North Hagerstown High School.

He was employed by Grove Worldwide for 29 years.

He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy.

He was a member of First Christian Church.

He was a member of Morris Frock American Legion Post 42.

He is survived by his wife of 34 years, Billie Lee Brining; one daughter, Shelley Smith of Hagerstown; one brother, Charles E. Brining of Hagerstown; one granddaughter; and one stepgranddaughter.

He was preceded in death by one son, Harry Edward Brining IV; and one sister, Sally Lou Brining.

Services will be Thursday at 11 a.m. at Douglas A. Fiery Funeral Home, Hagerstown. The Rev. Fred M. Harris will officiate. Burial will be in Rest Haven Cemetery, Hagerstown.

The family will receive friends Wednesday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Helen A. Golden

WARFORDSBURG, Pa. - Helen Alberta Golden, 84, of Klondike Road, died Sunday, Nov. 3, 2002, at Fulton County Medical Center in McConnellsburg, Pa.

Born May 5, 1918, in Warfordsburg, she was the daughter of the late George Edward and Alberta Jane Remsburg Golden.

She was a 1937 graduate of Bethel Township High School.

She worked in Hancock as a store clerk and bookkeeper.

She was a member of Warfordsburg Presbyterian Church.

She is survived by four nieces and five nephews.

She was preceded in death by four brothers, Harry Golden, Willard Golden, Wallace Golden and John Golden of Boonsboro; and two half-brothers, Walter Golden and Curtis Golden.

Services will be Thursday at 11 a.m. at Warfordsburg Presbyterian Church. The Rev. John Barlow will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
