HCC to host Provider Fair at Valley Mall



A Provider Fair to establish a pool of providers to assist children in special education services and elderly and disabled people with daily activities such as getting in and out of bed, getting dressed and taking their medication is being offered in Western Maryland.

There will be free assistance with applications and free CPR and first-aid classes for certification. Those attending will also be able to initiate the required criminal background check needed to provide attendant care services. There is a fee of $23 for the fingerprinting and background check, payable by check or money order only.

The Provider Fair will be Saturday, Nov. 16, at Hagerstown Community College in Valley Mall beginning at 8 a.m. Training classes will begin at 9 a.m. Continental breakfast and lunch will be provided.

HCC to hold an open house Nov. 23



Hagerstown Community College will host an open house Saturday, Nov. 23, starting at 10 a.m. in the College Center to give prospective students the opportunity to meet with faculty members and tour the campus.

They also can find out what careers are in demand and discover how much money they can save and how easy it is to transfer credits earned at HCC to a four-year college.

Information sessions include HCC programs of study, how to enroll, financial aid opportunities, how to pay for tuition and career and transfer opportunities.
