Build W.Va. 9 and save lives

November 04, 2002

To the editor:

The members of the Nine Means Lives Committee voted at a meeting on Oct. 24, 2002, not to support any candidates who have not or will not support the building of the Route 9 highway from the Virginia line to Berkeley Springs, W.Va.

In response to the question: Do you support the prompt completions of Route 9 from the Virginia Line to Martinsburg, W.Va.? All candidates who answered this question on a survey indicated they agree with the prompt completions of Route 9 except Vince George who indicated more studies may be needed.

This project has been studied for over 10 years and does not need any further delays. This is a safety issue that is in many ways costing the state as well as the taxpayers.
