Endorsement for McKee

November 04, 2002

McKee's my choice

To the editor:

Leave it to the Herald-Mail to get it wrong. From the headline with the wrong SubDistrict to their conclusion to make no endorsement in the District 2A race, the Herald-Mail got it all wrong.

Let's look at what's between the headline and the no endorsement:

What does the Herald-Mail say about Bob McKee-"a caring individual with integrity"; "a principled legislator"; "he's also refused to abstain on controversial subjects that he knew might be used against him in future election campaigns"; "as chairman of the delegation, he's willingly taken on the work of organizing it's meetings and making sure it's business gets done." What's the Herald -Mail's

conclusion about Bob McKee-"should the voters reward McKee for a solid performance?"

What does the Herald-Mail say about Peter Perini-"Perini's statement that he would continue to lobby for the nursing home industry while in Annapolis is a concern"; "and on slot-machine gambling, he didn't rule out slots at off-track betting parlors, which could kill local tip jar play which funds a great deal of local charitable activity".

What's the Herald-Mail conclusion about Peter Perini- "should the voters pick Perini for what he might do in the future?"

I know who I'm going to endorse for November 5th. I'm going to vote for Bob McKee and reward him for his "solid performance!"
