Who is result-oriented?

November 04, 2002

To the editor:

I read carefully, with great interest, the comments of the Washington County Commissioner candidates concerning school funding which appeared in the Sunday, Oct. 20, 2002, Herald-Mail. Not a single candidate even alluded to Positive Results funding. And our schools need Positive Results.

I have a document that was downloaded from the Internet that rates the 189 high schools in the State of Maryland. The highest ranked Washington County high school is listed at No. 80. In other words, almost half of the high schools in Maryland rate higher than the highest rated Washington County high school. This Result is pathetic. And Maryland's education system does not rate highly compared to other states in the United States.

Nobody seems to care about our children, only about political initiatives.
