Hunters, beware Rendell

November 04, 2002

To the editor:

I would like to alert my fellow hunters, sportsmen and women, and gun owners of a possible crisis. The former mayor of Philadelphia, Ed Rendell, is mounting a serious challenge to Attorney General Mike Fisher in the race to become the next governor of this great commonwealth.

Rendell is on record for limiting the number of guns that can be legally purchased by law abiding citizens. In fact, in an article that appeared in the Philadelphia Daily News in June of this year, Rendell said that he didn't believe instances where guns even used in self defense even occurred. This is a man who has been embraced by the anti-Second Amendment groups and who proposed suing gun manufacturers when he was mayor of Philadelphia.

Mike Fisher has stood behind Pennsylvania sportsmen throughout his career. He understands the difference between law abiding gun owners and criminals who obtain fire arms illegally. He is not afraid to be counted among Pennsylvania sportsmen and he is not afraid to go after tough criminals.

For those of you who value the principles upon which our country was founded, the choice is clear, Mike Fisher for governor. Mark your calendar to vote Nov. 5 for Mike Fisher.
