Dorothy M. Worthington

WILLIAMSPORT - Dorothy Mae Worthington, 79, of 16505 Virginia Ave., formerly of McDowell Avenue, Hagerstown, died Wednesday, Oct. 30, 2002, at Homewood at Williamsport.

Born Nov. 7, 1922, in Indian Springs, Md., she was the daughter of the late Samuel E. and Anna Rebecca McCormack Reed.

Her husband, John L. Worthington, died in 1986.

She was employed by the Washington County Board of Education as cafeteria manager at North Hagerstown High School until her retirement in 1976.

She was a member of First Brethren Church in Hagerstown.

She is survived by one daughter, Nancy Worthington McKinstry of Erie, Pa.; one son, Barry B. Worthington of Hagerstown; three stepdaughters, Delores Rodgers of Knoxville, Md., Doris Johnson of Detroit and Mary Stockel of Bakersfield, Calif.; one brother, Robert Reed of Indian Springs; and four grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by one stepson, John L. Worthington Jr.

Services will be Saturday at 1 p.m. at Douglas A. Fiery Funeral Home in Hagerstown. The Rev. Brian Leiter will officiate. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery, Hagerstown.

The family will receive friends Friday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.




Leroy Stottlemyer

BOONSBORO - Leroy "Peck" Stottlemyer, 83, of 17854 Bakersville Road, died Tuesday, Oct. 29, 2002, at Washington County Hospital.

Born June 13, 1919, in Hagerstown, he was the son of the late John and Kathy Hanes Stottelmyer.

His wife, Helen O. Beard Stottlemyer, died in 1989.

He was employed by Washington County Roads Department, retiring in 1984.

He was a Protestant.

He was a member of Washington County Antique Tractor Association and Hagerstown Roundhouse Museum.

He is survived by one daughter, Susan V. Mills of Boonsboro; three sons, Thomas L. Stottlemyer of Smithsburg, Richard L. Stottlemyer and Ronald G. Stottlemyer Sr., both of Boonsboro; five grandchildren; and two great-granddaughters.

He was preceded in death by one sister and one brother.

Services will be Friday at 2 p.m. at Andrew K. Coffman Funeral Home, Hagerstown. The Rev. Brian H. Moore will officiate. Burial will be in Bakersville Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home today from 7 to 9 p.m.




F. Louise Keys

CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - F. Louise Keys, 77, of 939 Geyer Drive, died Monday, Oct. 28, 2002, at her home.

Born Dec. 24, 1924, in Canton, Ohio, she was the daughter of the late Elmer E. and Margaret M. Baumberger Jones.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur W. Keys, in 1981. They were married in 1961.

She worked as a seamstress, retiring from J. Schoeneman Co. in Chambersburg. She had been employed as a waitress at Hoover's Restaurant in Chambersburg and as a caregiver in Waynesboro, Pa.

She was a member of Open Door Church in Chambersburg, and volunteered in the office.

She was a member of National Association of Retired Federal Employees 1068 of Chambersburg.

She is survived by three daughters, Margaret L. Kelso and Judith N. Capello, both of Chambersburg, and Patricia A. Golden of Fayetteville, Pa.; four sons, Donald L. Newell of Somar, Phillipines, David L. Newell and Ronald E. Newell, both of Chambersburg, and William D. Newell of Shippensburg, Pa.; three sisters, Winifred M. Cook of York, Pa., Barbara A. Johns of Chambersburg and Doris I. Ross of Hagerstown; two brothers, William D. Fortney of Dover, Ohio and Richard H. Fortney of Anchorage, Alaska; 16 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by an infant son; two brothers, Gene Fortney and Donald Fortney; and two infant grandchildren.

Services will be Friday at 1 p.m. at Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home, Chambersburg. The Revs. Carl McKee and Keith Skelton will officiate. Burial will be in Mount Pleasant Cemetery, Chambersburg.

Visitation will be Friday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the funeral home.

The family requests the omission of flowers.

Beulah M. Smith

MIDDLETOWN, Md. - Beulah Marie Smith, 92, of 6731-A Burkittsville Road, died Wednesday, Oct. 30, 2002, at Citizens Nursing Home, Frederick, Md.

Born Sept. 11, 1910, in Jefferson, Md., she was the daughter of the late Lewis and Annie Haupt Corum.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Howard J. Smith.

She was a homemaker.

She is survived by five children, Floyd Smith of Burkittsville, Md., Nancy Dickensheets of Middletown, Esther May of Frederick, Peggy Wike of Thurmont, Md. and Pauline Strite of Hagerstown; three sisters, Florabelle Crouse of Feagaville, Md., Margaret Shaff of Brunswick and Thelma Butler of Shepherdstown, W.Va.; 20 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by two sons, Austin Smith and Howard Smith; three sisters, Gennieve Young, Jack Ruthivin and Lillie Corum; and four brothers, Floyd Corum, Clinton Corum, Charles Corum and Vance Corum.
