The Finniffs

Mr. and Mrs. Ernest W. Finniff Jr. of Hagerstown were honored for their 60th wedding anniversary Sunday, Sept. 15, 2002, at the home of their eldest son and his wife, Jack and Joy Finniff. The Finniffs' other two children, Shirley Finniff and Ernest W. Finniff III and his wife Shirley helped with the festivities.

Friends and family attended the celebration. The event included the reading of a story written by Mr. Finniff's stepbrother, the late Rodney Tucker, for the couple's 40th wedding anniversary.

The Finniffs were married Sept. 12, 1942, in Hagerstown at the parsonage of St. Paul's Evangelical United Brethren Church by Dr. F. Berry Plummer, now deceased.

Mrs. Finniff is the former Jane Blickenstaff, daughter of the late Ralph and Hattie Eckstine Blickenstaff. She is the former owner and operator of Beauty Glo Hairstyling Salon.

Mr. Finniff is the son of the late Ernest Finniff Sr. and Lela Carpenter Finniff. He retired from Pangborn Corp., where he was a senior design engineer. He sings tenor in the local gospel group, "The Three Voices."

They have five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.




The Malotts

Glenn "Skip" and Valerie Cline Malott celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary at a surprise picnic at Marty Snook Park Saturday, Aug. 31, 2002. The party was hosted by their three children, spouses and grandchildren.

The Malotts were married Sept. 1, 1962, by the Rev. Conard McDonald at Downsville Christian Church.

Mrs. Malott is the former Valerie Lou Cline, daughter of the late D. Fred and Beulah Bowers Cline. She was raised by her oldest brother and his wife, the late Edgar and Nannie Cline. She was employed by Nationwide Insurance Co. for 28 years and is now retired. She is a volunteer at Williamsport Retirement Village and Washington County Hospital Auxiliary.

Mr. Malott is the son of Ruth V. Younker Malott of Williamsport and the late Glenn Ardel Malott Sr. He retired from Mack Trucks Inc. after 35 years of service. He is a volunteer caretaker at Christian Church Camp Mary-Mac.

Their children are Emily and Steve Crabtree, Chris and Pam Malott and Jason and Melinda Malott. They have four grandchildren.
