Person killed in Md. 63collision with truck

One person died in a two-vehicle accident near Williamsport Friday night, Maryland State Police Trooper Phil Martin said.

Details of the accident, including the identity of the victim, were not available Friday night.

Martin said nobody was taken from the scene to area hospitals.

The accident at Md. 63 and an off ramp of Interstate 70 occurred about 9:30 p.m.

A vehicle traveling on Md. 63 appeared to have run up under a tractor-trailer exiting I-70. The front of the vehicle was crushed.

Sheriff's deputies respond to calls

The Washington County Sheriff's Department took the following theft and vandalism reports Thursday:

  • At 1:30 p.m., someone took two ceramic bird baths from Snavely's Garden Corner on Leitersburg Pike north of Hagerstown. A black Ford Bronco was seen leaving the area, police said.

  • At 11:45 p.m. someone threw a brick through the picture window of a house in the 18600 block of Orchard Hill Parkway. Damage was estimated at $500.

  • At 5:30 p.m. someone broke a garage window on Orchard Drive in Boonsboro. Damage was estimated at $100.

Juveniles charged in burglary of Pa. store

McCONNELLSBURG, Pa. - Two juveniles have been charged with a September burglary at Deshong's Korner Store in Fulton County, Pennsylvania State Police said Friday.


Juvenile charges were filed against a 17-year-old boy and 16-year-old boy in connection with the burglary of the store at the intersection of Pleasant Ridge and Ebenezer Church roads, police said.

Coins and several cartons of cigarettes were reported missing.
