Anna C. Turner

SHEPHERDSTOWN, W.Va. - Anna C. Turner, 94, of Shepherdstown, died Friday, Oct. 25, 2002, at Canterbury Center.

Born May 9, 1908, in Shepherdstown, she was the daughter of the late William T. and Anna C. Reinhart VanMetre.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas W. Turner.

She was a member of Mount Wesley United Methodist Church where he was a member of United Methodist Women.

She was a member of Shepherdstown Volunteer Fire Co. Auxiliary.

She is survived by a brother, Edward R. VanMetre of Quincy United Methodist Home, Quincy, Pa., nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by two brothers, W.E. VanMetre and Thomas D. VanMetre.

Services will be Monday at 1 p.m. at Brown Funeral Home, Martinsburg, W.Va. Burial will be in Rosedale Cemetery.

The family will receive friends today from 3 to 5 p.m. at the funeral home.

Edgar A. Green

BOONSBORO - Edgar Allen Green, 90, of 8507 Mapleville Road and formerly of Lakin Avenue, died Friday, Oct. 25, 2002, at Fahrney-Keedy Home near Boonsboro.

Born Aug. 7, 1912, near Boonsboro, he was the son of the late Charles and Anna Stone Green.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret Thomas Green, in 2000.

He had been employed by Pangborn Corp. in Hagerstown and Fahrney-Keedy Home near Boonsboro and was the co-owner of Thomas and Son Awning Co. in Boonsboro.

He attended Fahrney-Keedy Chapel and was a member of Mount Nebo United Methodist Church in Boonsboro where he had been an usher and a Sunday school teacher and served on committees.

He was a member of McClellan Gun Club of Keedysville, Elks Lodge 378 of Hagerstown, Washington County Hospital Auxiliary and Boonsboro Senior Citizens.

He is survived by a daughter, Luana Green Goodwin of Philadelphia, and a granddaughter, Shana Goodwin of Madison, Wis.

Services will be Tuesday at 2 p.m. at Fahrney-Keedy Chapel near Boonsboro. The Revs. Louis R. Emerick and Robert G. Brennan will officiate. Burial will be in Boonsboro Cemetery.

The family will receive friends Monday from 7 to 9 p.m. at Bast Funeral Home, Boonsboro.
