Tools, electronics, cash register reported stolen

The Washington County Sheriff's Department reported several thefts and other crimes since Friday:

  • A Sanyo compact disc player/cassette player/radio worth $450, a cell phone worth $100 and a Craftsman toolbox worth $150 were reported stolen at 7:15 a.m. Friday from a 1999 Hyundai Elantra in the 13500 block of Blairs Valley Road.

  • Miscellaneous items were reported stolen at 7:25 a.m. Friday from a 1999 Pontiac Grand Am in the 11800 block of Boyd Road.

  • Tools valued at $1,000 were reported stolen at 7:30 a.m. Friday from a Ford van in the 15200 block of Clear Spring Road.

  • A cash register worth $250 and containing $100 cash was reported stolen at 8:15 a.m. Friday from Ivy Hill Market, 13840 Smithsburg Pike.

  • A Pioneer stereo and two subwoofers worth $800 were reported stolen at 8:45 a.m. Friday from the 16600 block of Woburn Road.

  • The windshield of a 1990 Eagle Talon in the 400 block of Pangborn Boulevard was reported smashed at 8:20 a.m. Saturday. Damage was estimated at $400.

  • Oakley sunglasses worth $140, a $150 Columbia jacket, a $45 gauge kit, a $300 Kenwood amp, a $200 JVC compact disc player, 100 compact discs worth $1,500 and two 12-inch subwoofers worth $600 were reported stolen at 12:30 p.m. Saturday from a 1997 Chevrolet Cavalier in the 11300 block of Eastwood Drive. Damage to the car was estimated at $400.

  • A Pioneer compact disc stereo and a Motorola cell phone worth a total of $250 were reported stolen at 11 p.m. Saturday from a Pontiac Sunbird in the Hecht's parking lot at Valley Mall. The driver's-side window was broken, with damage worth $100. A screwdriver was found in the ignition.

  • A bag of rocks was reported thrown through a vehicle windshield in the 100 block of North Church Street in Sharpsburg at 11 p.m. Saturday. Damage was estimated at $500.

  • Two keys, a brown briefcase and a hydraulic kit worth a total of $300 were reported stolen at 7 a.m. Sunday from a home in the 5100 block of Smith Road.

  • The windows of a Jeep Cherokee in the 400 block of Pangborn Boulevard were reported to have been smashed with a pumpkin at 1:15 p.m. Sunday. Damage was estimated at $250.

  • A Nextel cell phone and a gym bag worth a total of $270 were reported stolen at 4:30 p.m. Sunday from a camp on Hawks Hill Lane.

  • Two ladder tree stands worth $180 were reported stolen at 8 p.m. Sunday from Kerns Farm on Della Lane in Boonsboro.

Frederick residents face drug charges

FREDERICK, Md. - Three Frederick residents were charged with drug possession and a Myersville, Md., woman was charged with vehicle theft Monday in the 300 block of East Third Street, the Frederick Police Department said.


Curtis Bowie, 36, Othea Chanelle Lee, 35, and Glenn Anthony Palmer, 40, all of Frederick, were charged with drug possession, police said.

Jana Kelly, 38, of Myersville, was charged with vehicle theft, police said.

Police said they were called to the 100 block of West Fifth Street for a drug complaint, and discovered the suspects had left the area in a possibly stolen red Pontiac Grand Am.

Police located the vehicle in the 300 block of East Third Street and found Lee, Palmer and Bowie allegedly with drugs.

Md. man charged with carrying deadly weapon

FREDERICK, Md. - An 18-year-old Frederick man was charged Monday with first-degree assault and carrying a deadly weapon with intent to injure, the Frederick Police Department said.

Police said they responded to the area near the residence of Michael Anthony Embrey, 18, who allegedly became involved in an argument with a juvenile.

During the argument, police said Embrey allegedly entered his residence, got a rifle and pointed it toward the juvenile. Police recovered a .177-caliber air rifle with a scope that appeared to be a realistic bolt-action rifle, they said.

W.Va. man faces armed robbery charges

MARTINSBURG, W.Va. - A Martinsburg man was arrested Friday and charged with armed robbery after he allegedly placed a gun to a man's head and took his wallet in downtown Martinsburg, court records said.

Quincy Dawson, 25, of 213 N. Raleigh St., Apt. B, was being held in the Eastern Regional Jail Monday night.

The victim told police that he helped Dawson and another man start a blue and gray Ford Bronco in the area of North Raleigh Street on Oct. 15 when Dawson allegedly placed a black handgun against his head, Berkeley County Magistrate Court records said.

The man alleges Dawson ordered him to get in the truck, court records said.

Dawson drove the truck to the rear of Ramon's restaurant at 329 Winchester Ave., court records said.

After taking the man's wallet and another item, Dawson allegedly struck the man in the forehead with the butt end of the pistol and pushed the man out of the truck, court records said.

Thousands in cash stolen from W.Va. bar

RANSON, W.Va. - Between $7,000 and $8,000 in cash was stolen from Jack Pots bar on Mildred Street Sunday night or Monday morning, Ranson City Police said.
