Poets are invited to submit works

LOGAN, Utah - Creative Communication announces its semi-annual free poetry contest. Students and adults from the Atlantic states of Delaware, Maryland, Virginia and Washington, D.C., are invited to enter the contest. More than $2,500 in prizes are awarded to the winning poets and $500 in grants is awarded to schools.

There are five separate divisions with 10 top winners in each division. The divisions are: Grades K to 3, 4 to 5, 7 to 9, 10 to 12 and adult. Each poet may submit one original poem, 21 lines or less. The deadline for the contest is Thursday, Dec. 5. To submit a poem, enter online at www.poeticpower.com or mail your entry to Creative Communication, 90 N. 100 E, Logan, Utah 84321. For student entries, list grade, school name, school address and teacher's name. Poems of merit will be invited to be published in an anthology.

There is no entry fee or required purchase to enter or to be published. Teachers with five accepted poets receive a free book. Schools with 15 or more accepted poets also receive a free book and qualify to apply for one of our language arts grants.
