Md. voting information

Anyone 18 or older by the Nov. 5 general election can register to vote in local, state and national elections.

There are numerous places to pick up a form:

  • The Washington County Board of Elections office, first floor, 35 W. Washington St., Hagerstown. Open from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.

  • Any post office, public library, high school, state agencies, Motor Vehicle Administration or military recruitment office.

  • On the Internet at


  • The deadline for filing as a write-in candidate is Oct. 30 at 5 p.m.

  • The last day to register to vote prior to the general election is Oct. 15.

  • You can't vote if you are on parole or probation for a felony or if you are under legal guardianship for a mental disability.
