WILLIAMSPORT - The Boonsboro Warriors scored four first-half rushing touchdowns en route to a 28-6 win over the Williamsport Wildcats on Friday night in a Monocacy Valley Athletic League football game.

Two of those TDs for Boonsboro (4-3, 4-2) were by senior running back Nathan Himes on carries of 4 and 76 yards.

"We didn't want to let them into the game," said Himes, who had 99 yards on 11 carries. "We wanted to get off to a good start. There were huge holes up front and that is what got me those two touchdowns."

The Warriors got on the scoreboard with 6:55 left in the first quarter on Himes' 4-yard touchdown run. Boonsboro got the ball back 40 seconds later when Travis Itnyre recovered a fumble at the Williamsport 19. Dan Robinson scored on a 9-yard run to extend the Warriors' lead to 14-0 with 5:01 to go in the first quarter. Boonsboro then blocked a Williamsport punt on the final play of the first quarter before Himes' 76-yard run to build a 20-0 advantage. The Warriors scored again with 4:51 left in the first half on a 50-yard run by Justin Leggett. Robinson ran for the two-point conversion to give Boonsboro a 28-0 halftime lead.

"Our defense played well for most of the game," Boonsboro coach Clayton Anders said.
