Virgie V. Myers

BOONSBORO - Virgie Viola Myers, 80, of 22 Schoolhouse Court, died Thursday, Oct. 17, 2002, at Washington County Hospital.

Born Aug. 16, 1922, in Blairton, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late Melcher and Lelia Ann Betts Smith.

Her husband, William Luther Myers Sr., died Feb. 14, 1974.

She worked at Fairchild Aircraft, at Old Town Restaurant in Shepherdstown, W.Va., as a cook and at the tannery in Williamsport.

She attended Shepherdstown Presbyterian Church.

She is survived by four daughters, Leona Long and JoAnn Duffey, both of Boonsboro, Barbara Jones of Baltimore and Nina Detrow of Mercersburg, Pa.; a son, William Myers Jr. of Cearfoss; two sisters, Virginia Stephens of Falling Waters, W.Va., and Vernie Jones of Essex, Md.; a brother, Vernon C. Smith of Middle River, Md.; 15 grandchildren; and 26 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a son, Michael Edward Myers; a brother, Floyd Myers; a grandson; and her stepfather, Edward O'Ferrell.

Services will be Monday at 10:30 a.m. at Bast Funeral Home in Boonsboro. The Rev. Joseph I. Donovan III will officiate. Burial will be in Pleasant View Memory Gardens in Martinsburg, W.Va.

The family will receive friends Sunday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home, which will be open at noon for the convenience of family and friends.




Betty L. Fauble

BRUNSWICK, Md. - Services for Betty Lorraine "Becky" Fauble, 62, of 2 East "A" Street, who died Tuesday, Oct. 15, 2002, will be today at 10 a.m. at John T. Williams Funeral Home, Brunswick. The Rev. Franklin Nick and Pastor Van Marsceau will officiate.

Beulah M. Effland

MILLERSVILLE, Md. - Services for Beulah M. "Kitty" Effland, 83, of Millersville and formerly of Berkeley Springs, W.Va., who died Monday, Oct. 14, 2002, will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at Hunter-Anderson Funeral Home, Berkeley Springs. The Rev. Jeff Dissmoro will officiate. Burial will be in Snyders Church Cemetery, Hedgesville, W.Va.

The family will receive friends today from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.




Ann H. Hruda

BERKELEY SPRINGS, W.Va. - A memorial service for Ann H. Hruda, 76, of Berkeley Springs, who died Thursday, Sept. 19, 2002, will be Saturday at 3 p.m. at Hunter-Anderson Funeral Home, Berkeley Springs.




Harold M. Grossnickle

SMITHSBURG - Harold Morgan Grossnickle, 63, of 22329 Cave Hill Road, died Wednesday, Oct. 16, 2002, at Clearview Nursing Home, Hagerstown.

Born Feb. 7, 1939, in Middletown, Md., he was the son of the late Chauncey M. and Pansy Detta Butts Grossnickle.

His wife, Shirley L. Funk Grossnickle, died May 25, 2002.

He was employed with D.M. Bowman in Williamsport, retiring in 2002.

He was a member of Ringgold Church of Christ.

He was a volunteer for the American Cancer Society.

He is survived by three daughters, Crystal L. Ancarrow of Smithsburg, Kathy L. Keeny of Clear Spring and Kimberly A. Lancaster of Virginia Beach, Va.; a son, Keith W. Grossnickle of Waynesboro, Pa.; nine grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Donald R. Grossnickle.

Services will be Monday at 1 p.m. at Douglas A. Fiery Funeral Home, Hagerstown. The Revs. Donald Conley and Richard Daughtridge will officiate. Burial will be in Cedar Lawn Memorial Park, Hagerstown.

The family will receive friends Sunday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mildred L. Webb

BOLIVAR, W.Va. - Mildred Lavina Webb, 89, of Bolivar, died Thursday, Oct. 17, 2002, at her home.

Born Dec. 17, 1912, in Charles Town, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late Charles M. and Millie Burns Trundle.

She was a member of Shenandoah Memorial United Methodist Church in Millville, W.Va.

She is survived by her husband of 71 years, Miller A. Webb; a daughter, Joan Smith of Alexandria, Va.; a son, Charles C. Webb of Sterling, Va.; six grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by three sisters, Joyce Jenkins, Doris Smith and Kathryn Staubs.

Services will be Sunday at 2 p.m. at Eackles-Spencer Funeral Home, Harpers Ferry, W.Va. The Rev. James K. Hamrick will officiate. Burial will be in Fairview Lutheran Cemetery, Bolivar.

The family will receive friends Saturday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

James F. Nicely

MARTINSBURG, W.Va. - James Floyd Nicely, 84, formerly of Martinsburg, died Wednesday, Oct. 16, 2002, at Johnston Memorial Hospital, Abingdon, Va.

Born July 14, 1918, in Middleway, W.Va., he was the son of the late Walter C. and Dema Whittington Nicely.
