ROCKVILLE, Md. - Amanda Storm had 16 digs, 12 kills and three aces to lead Hagerstown Community College over Rockville in four sets Thursday night, 30-24, 26-30, 30-23, 30-11. Chelsea Jollisse had 17 digs and eight kills, Melanie Whitt had 38 assists and 11 digs, Mandy Myers had nine kills and three blocks, Emily Beecher had 15 digs, eight kills and four aces and Lauren Resh had 11 digs for HCC (15-12, 7-4).


No. 1 TJ 4, North Carroll 1

HAMPSTEAD, Md. - Lucas Dowiak scored twice, Jeff Swanson and Alex Stick each scored one goal, Rob Franviscosich had an assist and Gladimir Elysee made four saves for Thomas Johnson (13-0, 7-0 Central Maryland Conference).

No. 8 Middletown 1, Walkersville 0

MIDDLETOWN, Md. - Ryan Lingg scored on an assist from Bobby Riggs for Middletown (7-4-1, 5-2-1 Monocacy Valley Athletic League). Danny Favarulo recorded five saves to earn his fifth shutout of the season. Jon Humerick had four saves in the loss for Walkersville.

No. 10 Waynesboro 2, No. 8 C'burg 1

CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - John Weber scored two goals, including one with 1:23 left in overtime, as the Indians (8-7, 5-5) came back from a 1-0 halftime deficit to beat the Mid-Penn Keystone rival Trojans (8-9-2, 3-5-2). Nick Kipe and Martin Goldman had the assists for Waynesboro, which earned its first ever berth in the Mid-Penn playoffs while eliminating Chambersburg's postseason chances. The Trojans took a 1-0 lead late in the first half on a penalty kick by Tim Brenize.

Catoctin 4, South 1

CATOCTIN, Md. - Ken Hinchcliffe led Catoctin (5-6, 2-4 MVAL) with a hat trick and Vinny Testa also scored as the Cougars outshot South, 11-6. Brandon Lasher had four saves in the victory.

Broadfording 2, Highland View 1

John Bishop scored two goals and Erig Higgins had an assist for Broadfording (2-10-1). Brian Snyder had 17 saves in the victory. Kenny Trupen scored the only goal for Highland View.


No. 6 North 9, Boonsboro 0

Michelle Fickes had four goals and five other players all scored as North (9-3, 4-3 MVAL) shut out Boonsboro. Emily Kelso, Helen Barnhart, Corrie Jones, Kelly Brashear and Kelly Salvagno scored for the Hubs. Jones added two assists, while Kelso, Ashley Throckmorton, Amanda Vogelsong, Jessica Walters and Brenna Bacon had assists.

No. 7 Jefferson 7, Musselman 0

SHENANDOAH JUNCTION, W.Va. - Gabby Carstens scored two goals to lead the Cougars as they outshot Musselman, 14-5. Kate Moore, Courtney McCauley, Amber Fellers, Danielle Longerbeam and Jenna Bradley each scored once for Jefferson. McCauley had two assists and Carstens and Emily Mayher each had one. Laura McIlroy and Elaine Arabatzis combined for five saves and the shutout for Jefferson (14-4-1, 6-2-1 Apple Valley League).

No. 4 St. John's-PH 2, The Key School 1

Liz Brokaw scored two goals and Madison Keller had an assist to lead St. John's-PH (13-2, 6-1) to an overtime win. Lindsey Weaver recorded six saves and had her 18-game league shutout streak snapped.

Hedgesville 3, Mercersburg Academy 1

MERCERSBURG, Pa. - Leslie Kirk scored two goals and Lisa Kirk added one to lead Hedgesville. Nicole Stocking had an assist and Kim Beaulieu recorded 12 saves in the victory. Catherine Schoulties scored Mercersburg's goal and Stephanie Turner had nine saves for the Blue Storm (1-11-1).

No. 8 Smithsburg 5, FSK 0

SMITHSBURG - Stephanie Smith and Kristen Poffenberger each scored two unassisted goals and Shannon Fowkes scored on an assist from Sarah Shinhan for Smithsburg. Claire Yonker and Candace Stanford combined for the shutout for the Leopards (8-4, 4-3 MVAL).

FREDERICK, Md. - Emily Sykes scored 21 seconds into the game, Lindsay Hoffman and Jen Thackston also scored before the half while Erin Lathrop record her sixth shutout for Thomas Johnson (7-2-1, 4-0-1 CMC).

SHENANDOAH JUNCTION, W.Va. - Hedgesville remained undefeated in the Apple Valley League as it defeated Jefferson, 15-11, 15-6, 15-5. Ashley Copenhaver had 13 service points, nine kills and seven blocks and Tracy Regalbuto had 18 assists and one block for Hedgesville (24-3-6).

No. 6 McConnellsburg 2, Hyndman 0

McCONNELLSBURG, Pa. - The Spartans kept their unbeaten streak alive with a 15-0, 15-4 victory. Allison Parush had 12 service points, Kara Carmack had seven service points and eight kills, Jade Anthony had eight kills, Lindsay Lininger had five kills and three blocks and Heidi Swope added 18 kill assists for McConnellsburg (15-0 Sideling Hill League). JV: McConnellsburg, 2-0.

No. 7 James Buchanan 2, West Perry 0

MERCERSBURG, Pa. - Lindsey Crider had 20 kill assists to help James Buchanan defeat West Perry, 15-4, 15-13. Jess Stough had nine service points and Ashley Helfrick had eight kills for JB (16-1, 13-0 Mid-Penn Capital).
