Old Tyme Christmas scheduled for Dec. 6

FUNKSTOWN - Old Tyme Christmas will be Dec. 6 in Funkstown.

Committee Chairman Rich Gaver said no list of activities has been made yet, but all the shops will be open in town and there will be singing, face painting and craft shows.

The next committee meeting will be Oct. 23 and will continue to meet every two weeks until the event.

"We hope the fire hall will host another meal that night," Gaver said.

Candidate visits

FUNKSTOWN - David Russo, a candidate for the Maryland House of Delegates District 2B seat, stopped by the Funkstown Mayor and Town Council meeting Monday to praise the council for past decisions.

Russo, owner of Russo's Rx in downtown Funkstown, thanked the mayor and council for keeping Wal-Mart out of the small community.

"You really dodged a bullet," Russo said.
