The Mozingos

Elwyn and Virginia Mozingo celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary at a party at the Hagerstown Elks Club hosted by their son and daughter-in-law, Greg and Sharon Mozingo. Eighty people attended the event.

The Mozingos were married Aug. 7, 1952, at First Christian Church by the Rev. Joseph Porterfield.

Mrs. Mozingo is the daughter of the late Helen and Banner Browning. She retired from Pangborn Corp., in 1985.

Mr. Mozingo is the son of the late Irene and Paul Mozingo. He is a 1990 retiree of Mack Trucks.

They have three grandchildren.

The Johnsons

Mr. and Mrs. Robert W. Johnson of Hagerstown celebrated 50 years of marriage by renewing their wedding vows in the presence of family and friends at the Maugansville Rotary Club Saturday, June 15, 2002. The event was hosted by their children, Pamela Jonntag, Steve Johnson, Rick Johnson and Penney Ponder. More than 150 people attended the celebration.


The Johnsons were married June 14, 1952, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Hagerstown.

Patricia E. Johnson is a homemaker.

Mr. Johnson is a graduate of Morgan State University. He retired from the Washington County School system where he taught and coached at the North Street School and North Hagerstown High School. He also served as vice principal at E. Russell Hicks Middle School.

They are active members of Ebenezer AME Church.

They have 11 grandchildren.

The Palmers

Gary and Debbie Palmer of Hagerstown were honored on their 25th wedding anniversary Saturday, Aug. 3, 2002, with a surprise party hosted by their daughters, Becky Palmer and Christy Palmer. Family and friends attended the event.

The Palmers were married Aug. 27, 1977. They renewed their vows Saturday, Aug. 24, 2002, at Christ Lutheran Church. The Rev. Raymond Shriver officiated. Attendants were Pam Ambrose and Rick Palmer.

Mrs. Palmer is the daughter of Ronald and Ruth Jones. Mr. Palmer is the son of Donald and Norma Palmer.
