Schedule of events

Saturday, Oct. 12

9 a.m. - Parade begins at Berkeley Springs High School, continues north through town square to the old train station on Williams Street.

10:30 a.m. - Festival begins with apple butter making displays, exhibits, gallery show and sale at the Ice House and children's carnival.

11 a.m. - Turtle race at courthouse

11:30 a.m. and 12:45 p.m. - Dixieland jazz by The Professors at the bandstand

2 p.m. and 3:15 p.m. - Critton Hollow String Band performs at the bandstand

2:50 p.m. - Beard and Mustache Contest at the bandstand

5 p.m. - Festival closes

Sunday, Oct. 13

Noon - Festival opens

12:15 p.m. - Morgan Community Concert Band

1:15 p.m. and 2:30 p.m. - Egg toss. Meet at the bandstand.


1:15 p.m. and 2:30 p.m. - Red Moon, "newgrass" music, bandstand

2 p.m. - Hog calling contest. Meet at the bandstand.

4:15 p.m. - Apple Butter Quilt drawing

5 p.m. - Festival closes

Directions: From Hagerstown, take Interstate 70 west to the second Hancock exit (on the left) for U.S. 522 toward Berkeley Springs, W.Va., and Winchester, Va. Cross the Potomac River and go 6 miles into town.
