Brad Bennett has been named The Herald-Mail's October Employee of the Month.

Bennett is a member of the building department.

Patti Rowe has been promoted to full-time webmaster with the company. Rowe joined the information technologies department in a part-time capacity this summer.

In the newsroom, Pepper Ballard has been promoted to the position of education reporter. Ballard had been a part-time community reporter for the paper since January, and also a former intern.

In the mailroom, Linda Stupelman has been hired as a part-time inserter.

Celebrating milestone anniversaries with the company in October are: Barb Resh, advertising, 30 years; Tony Mulieri, newsroom, 25 years; and Ray Clark, advertising, 20 years.


Tower Bancorp

GREENCASTLE, Pa. - Frederic M. Frederick has joined the Board of Directors of Tower Bancorp Inc. and The First National Bank of Greencastle.

Frederick is president of Frederick, Seibert and Associates Inc., a civil engineering surveying and landscape architecture business with offices in Greencastle and Hagerstown.

Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage

Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage in Hagerstown recognized the following sales associates for their work in September:

Cynthia Moler, top selling sales associate by volume and units and top sales associate by settled volume and settled units.

Debra Valentine, top listing sales associate by volume and units.

In addition, H. Wayne Long II has joined the Hagerstown office as a sales associate.

St. Lawrence Cement

SECURITY, Md. - David Eugene Eaton II has joined St. Lawrence Cement as a junior engineer.

Eaton, a graduate of Pennsylvania State University with a degree in mechanical engineering technology, will train with the production, lab, quarry and maintenance departments.

BOONSBORO - Lisa Thaggard of Boonsboro has joined The Longaberger Co. as an independent sales associate.

Washington County Health Department

Joyce Wade is the Employee of the Month for October at the Washington County Health Department.

Wade, a health aide, has been employed with the health department since 1995.

Antietam Health Services

Kelly L. Hilton of Hagerstown has passed the AAMA CMA certification/recertification examination for medical assistants.

Hilton is a graduate of the medical assisting program at Hagerstown Business College and is employed by Antietam Health Services, Hagerstown.

McLean, Koehler, Sparks & Hammond

FREDERICK, Md. - McLean, Koehler, Sparks & Hammond has announced the promotion of Kathleen M. Davis, CPA, to principal; Catherine E. Brown, CPA, to in-charge accountant; and R. Scott Grimes to in-charge accountant.

Davis, of Mt. Airy, Md., has nearly 15 years of public accounting experience and heads the firm's employee benefits practice.

Brown, of New Market, Md., has two years of experience in public accounting including preparation of corporate, partnership, trust, individual and benefit plan tax returns.

Grimes, of Frederick, Md., has experience with audits, reviews and compilations, and has worked extensively with the firm's death care industry team.

Washington Heritage Trail Association

Kimberly Eichelberger has been named executive director of the Washington Heritage Trail Association Board of Trustees

Eichelberger will work with the board to plan, develop, interpret and market the Heritage Trail throughout the Eastern Panhandle of West Virginia.

The 112-mile trail is a nationally designated scenic byway that ties together historic properties in Morgan, Berkeley and Jefferson counties that bear a direct association with George Washington.

Eichelberger previously was community relations manager at TransIT Services of Frederick County.

Hershey Lodge & Convention Center

HERSHEY, Pa. - Kevin P. O'Connell has been appointed director of convention services at the Hershey Lodge & Convention Center.

O'Connell recently served as the food and beverage director at Anheuser Busch-Kingsmill Resort in Williamsburg, Va.

The Country Inn at Berkeley Springs

BERKELEY SPRINGS, W.Va. - Lloyd A. Simon has been named general manager of Historic Hospitality's The Country Inn at Berkeley Springs boutique hotel and spa.

Simon's most recent post was general manager of the Paramount Hotel in downtown Baltimore.

The Country Inn at Berkeley Springs, built in 1932, has 69 rooms, a restaurant with two dining rooms seating 160 people, lounge, gift shop, guest cottage and spa.

Jack Gaughen Realtor ERA

WAYNESBORO, Pa. - Jack Gaughen Realtor ERA's Waynesboro office has announced three of its agents have reached career milestones.

Mike West has reached $3 million production so far in 2002. Wayne Bunnelson and Charlie Costlow have reached $1 million production.
