Saturday's Roundup - St. James falls to West Nottingham

WEST NOTTINGHAM, Md. - West Nottingham (4-2) pulled out a 20-14 victory over St. James (3-3) on Saturday.

Mo Rodriguez finished with 30 rushes for 109 yards and had a 5-yard touchdown run for the Saints. Andrew Dewey caught a 17-yard pass from David Hammond for St. Jame's other score.

HAMPSTEAD, Md. - Jamar Garner rushed for 194 yards on 22 carries to lead Thomas Johnson (2-3) past North Carroll (1-4) on Friday night.

Garner ran for two touchdowns and caught a 42-yard touchdown pass from Luke Spurrier.

Brad Bivins, who ran for the Patriots' other touchdown, made 10 tackles. Darnell Edmonds and Zack Karmoile had one interception each for TJ.

CUMBERLAND, Md. - Fort Hill (4-1) scored all 17 of its points during the fourth quarter to notch a come-from-behind victory over Hedgesville (1-5) on Friday night.

Matt Bartgis gained 124 yards on 16 carries for the Eagles, who were called for 12 penalties for 75 yards. Fort Hill was not whistled for a single penalty.

MERCERSBURG, Pa. - Shahzaib Merwat scored, while Andrew Rohman had 13 saves for Mercersburg (3-4-2, 0-3-0 Mid-Atlantic Prep League).

Goretti 4, Boonsboro 3


Joey Spierenburg and David Savine each had a goal and an assist, while Jebe Schramm and Steve Costello each had goals for St. Maria Goretti (5-7-1).

David Byers had two goals and Sean Beyard had a goal for Boonsboro, which outshot Goretti, 18-17.

Patt McCullough had 15 saves for Goretti and Ryan Stone had 10 saves for Boonsboro.

WILLIAMSPORT - Meghan Sherman and Leah McCallum scored goals for Brunswick (3-4-2) in a surprising tie against Williamsport.

Brunswick is 3-1-2 in its last six games. Christin Ridlen made seven saves for the Railroaders.

Meggan McGill and Emilee Van Norden scored for Williamsport.

MERCERSBURG, Pa. - Blair Academy (3-3) got goals from Mollie Dawson and Edwina Adrien to edge Mercersburg Academy (1-8-1).

Stephanie Turner made nine saves for the Blue Storm.

St. James 7, Foxcroft 0


ST. JAMES - Sarah Kornides scored two goals as St. James (5-5-2) blanked Foxcroft.

Lauren Blount, Katie Graham, Jessica Greenberg, Teresa Pecoraro and Sarah Morgan added one goal apiece for the Saints.
