Where to dispose of tires

Washington County residents may drop off, for free, up to six tires per household at Saturday's Tire Amnesty Day at the following locations:

  • Forty West Landfill, off U.S. 40, one mile west of Md. 63.

  • North Hagerstown High School.

  • South Hagerstown High School.

  • Williamsport High School.

  • Washington County Highway shop at 6223 Coffman Farms Road, Keedysville.

  • County highway shop at 13230 Greensburg Road, Greensburg.

  • County highway shop at 9659 National Pike, Big Pool.



Tires with a rim size greater than 17 inchs cannot be dropped off, with the exception of two agriculture tires per household.

Those dumping tires should be prepared to show vehicle registration.

Tires not accepted for the event can be disposed of for a fee at the landfill.
