Frederick T. Wolford

Graveside military honors for Frederick Theodore "Teddy" Wolford, 57, of 837 Chestnut St., Hagerstown, who died Wednesday, Sept. 25, 2002, will be provided by American Legion Post 42, at Cedar Lawn Memorial Park, Saturday following a service at 11 a.m.




Lois E. Staley

BOONSBORO - A Celebration of Life for Lois Elaine Staley, 59, of 20 Young Ave., Boonsboro, who died Monday, Aug. 19, 2002, will be Sunday at 3 p.m. at First Brethren Church of Hagerstown. John Mills will officiate.

Burial was Friday, Aug. 23, in Boonsboro Cemetery.

Arrangements are by Bast Funeral Home, Boonsboro.




Glenna M. Shook

LONDON, Ohio - Glenna Maxine Shook, 94, of London, and formerly of Funkstown, died Friday, Sept. 20, 2002, at The Arbors at London.

Born Aug. 24, 1908, in Columbus, Ohio, she was the daughter of Luther and Belva Vent Snyder.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence Shook.

She was a member of London First United Methodist Church.

She is survived by one son, Robert F. Shoaf of Hagerstown; two grandsons, Steven Shoaf and Jeffrey Shoaf; five great-grandchildren and one cousin.

She was preceded in death by one sister, Harriett Rosco.

Services will be Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Rader Lynch and Dodds Funeral Home, London. The Rev. Jerry Poff will officiate. Burial will be in Paint Township Cemetery.




Laverne A. Welding

HARPERS FERRY, W.Va. - Laverne Ann Welding, of Shannondale, died Wednesday, Sept. 25, 2002, at City Hospital, Martinsburg, W.Va.

Born in Pittsburgh, she was the daughter of the late William and Loretta Alesky Gress.

She was of the Episcopal faith.

She is survived by her husband of 22 years, Daniel Edward Welding.

Services will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at Melvin T. Strider Colonial Funeral Home, Charles Town, W.Va. The Rev. John Alfriend will officiate. Burial will be in Pleasant View Memory Gardens, Martinsburg.

The family will receive friends Saturday at 10 a.m. at the funeral home.




Annabel L. Black

YORK, Pa. - Annabel Louise Black, 89, of Skylight Drive, and formerly of Waterfall, Pa., died Tuesday, Sept. 24, 2002, at York Hospital.

Born Dec. 4, 1912, in East McKeesport, Pa., she was the daughter of the late William L. and Mary Ida Owens Eisaman.

Her husband, Daniel M. Black, died in 1985. They were married Jan. 16, 1932.

She was a homemaker.

She was a member of Bethany United Methodist Church in York.

She is survived by one daughter, Rosanne L. Hotaling of York; three sons, Roger L. Black of San Francisco, Gary M. Black of College Park, Md., and D. Allen Black of Lincoln City, Ore.; seven grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by one son, George K. Black; one sister and two brothers.

Graveside services will be Tuesday at 2 p.m. at Center Cemetery in Waterfall. The Rev. David Ford will officiate.

There will be no viewing or visitation.

Arrangements are by M.R. Brown Funeral Home, Hustontown, Pa.




Charlotte K. Barnhart

CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - Charlotte K. Barnhart, 85, of Penn Hall, and formerly of 280 Park Ave., died Thursday, Sept. 26, 2002, at Penn Hall Nursing Center.

Born Jan. 29, 1917, in Chambersburg, she was the daughter of the late J. Harry and Anna Marguerite Hafer Kennedy.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Howard K. Barnhart, in 1982.

She was a homemaker.

She was a member of Order of the Eastern Star Martha Custis Chapter 342 of Chambersburg; Republican Women's Club of Franklin County; Daughters of the American Revolution; and a member and past president of Women's Club of Chambersburg.

She is survived by three daughters, Joy Knox of Montgomery Village, Md., Virginia Kessler of Oviedo, Fla., and Pamela Grove of Rehoboth Beach, Del.; one sister, Nancy Crouse of Chambersburg; one brother, Robert F. Kennedy of Chambersburg; six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by three brothers.

Services will be Monday at 10 a.m. at Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home, Chambersburg. The Rev. Robert Keener will officiate. Burial will be in Norland Cemetery, Chambersburg.

The family will receive friends Monday at 9 a.m. at the funeral home.




Frank A. Mills

HANCOCK - Frank Alvin Mills, 59, of Fulton Street, died Wednesday, Sept. 25, 2002, at his home.

Born Jan. 29, 1943, in Montgomery, Pa., he was the son of the late Winfield Albert and Hazel Carbaugh Mills.

He was formerly employed by C. William Hetzer as a truck driver.

He was a member of Hagerstown Teamsters and Motor Carriers.
