Fairview Outdoor School to hold open house

The Fairview Outdoor School will hold an open house on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Although there are no activities planned, the Outdoor School staff will provide information about programs available at the school.

All buildings, instructional areas, and trails will be open for visitors. Trail maps will be available.

Five named trustees of Museum of Fine Arts

Five people have joined the board of trustees of the Washington County Museum of Fine Arts.

Those selected to three-year terms include: Dennis C. Caverly of Carlisle, Pa., retired president of First National Bank of Waynesboro, Pa., and an artist; Lois E. Easton of Greencastle, Pa., director, First National Bank of Greencastle; Frances Hughes Glendening of Washington, an attorney with the Federal Election Commission; James M. Schurz of Williamsport, vice president, Schurz Communications of South Bend, Ind.; Mary Helen Strauch of Hagerstown, president, Contemporary American Theater Festival, Shepherdstown, W.Va.; and for a two-year appointment, Jane M. Keller of Hagerstown, president of the museum's volunteer organization, The Singer Society.


The officers for fiscal year 2002-03 are: Spence W. Perry, president; Howard S. Kaylor, vice president; Thomas C. Newcomer, vice president; James G. Piern, secretary; Jeffrey B. Yingling, treasurer; and Barbara J. Fulton and Catherine M. Smith, assistant treasurers.

Robinwood plans fall open house

Robinwood Medical Center will host a fall open house on Saturday, Oct. 5, from noon to 4 p.m.

Robinwood Medical Center is at 11110 Medical Campus Road, off Robinwood Drive in Hagerstown. Use the Blue or Silver entrance.

The public can tour the newly opened wing and learn about new services available. Clowns, a magician and a moon bounce will be available for children.

Refreshments will be served.

Women's Club to hold membership reception

The Women's Club at Hagerstown, 31 S. Prospect St., is sponsoring a membership reception on Tuesday, Oct. 15, at 7 p.m.

Club members and prospective members are invited to attend the reception to hear about the Women's Club, including history and events that have been planned for 2002-03.

Call the Women's Club Office at 301-739-0870 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., with the names and addresses of guests to be invited and an invitation will be mailed to them.

Scholastic Book Fair set for Maugansville

Maugansville Elementary PTA will host a Scholastic Book Fair open to the public on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Maugansville Elementary School, 18023 Maugans Avenue, Maugansville.
