An evening of art, food and fine vintage wines accompanied by the jazz of the Howard Burns Quartet is planned for Friday, Oct. 11, from 7 to 9:30 p.m. at Roccoco's in downtown Hagerstown. Restauranteur Cheryl Kenney of Roccoco, who is a collector of black and white photography, is hosting the event to bring attention to the Washington County Arts Council.
The evening's feature event is an auction. The restaurant will offer an array of vintage and specialty wines at the auction. Merchandise from other downtown merchants will be offered for auction, along with artwork from the regions' visual artists.
Funds raised at the auction will benefit the programs of the Washington County Arts Council, which include The Arts Council's Gallery, Antietam Review literary magazine, Art Camp at Doub's Woods, Stories in the Parks, Wheaton Park cultural series, Artist-in-Schools programs, Community Arts Development Grant program, Artrageous news publication, public mural initiative, M-Cubed multi-media events, WCAC Scholarship, WCAC artist awards and the annual Children's Art Festival.
