The Millers

Mr. and Mrs. Charles Miller celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary Sunday, July 14, at Fairplay Fire Hall banquet room in Fairplay. More than 150 friends and family members attended the event. Music was provided by the VO Duo from Elizabethtown, Pa.

The Millers were married July 12, 1952, by the Rev. Edward Godsey at Calvary United Methodist Church in Frederick, Md.

Mrs. Miller is the daughter of Homer Anders of Fairplay and the late Blanche Anders. She retired from the Frederick Post Office in 1991.

Mr. Miller is the son of the late Harvey and Grace Miller of Frederick. He is a veteran of World War II, where he served in the South Pacific from 1943 to 1946. He retired from the Thurmont Post Office in 1987.

The Snyders

Virginia "Ginny" and Norman A. Snyder Jr. of Martinsburg, W.Va., were honored for their 60th wedding anniversary at a celebration Saturday, June 29, 2002, at the home of their son and his wife, Norman III and Betty Snyder, and grandchildren, in Vienna, Va. Many close friends and relatives attended the event.

The Snyders were married at Falling Waters Church in Spring Mills, W.Va., by Rev. Julian T. Owen, now deceased.

Mrs. Snyder is the daughter of the late Lewis and Cordellia (Lewis) Jackson. She retired from the U.S. Air Force, Andrews Air Force Base, in Camp Springs, Md., where she was base librarian.

Mr. Snyder is the son of the late Rose (Throckmorton) and Norman Snyder Sr. He retired from the U.S. Air Force, Andrews Air Force Base, in Camp Springs, Md., where he was supervisor of aircraft maintenance.
