Two are airliftedfrom Pa. 16 crash

BLUE RIDGE SUMMIT, Pa. - Two people were airlifted from the scene of a head-on collision Friday afternoon on Pa. 16.

Their names and conditions could not be confirmed by press time.

The wreck happened around 4:45 p.m., when a small pickup truck and a full-size sedan collided about a mile west of Monterey Lane.

Officers with the Washington Township Police Department would not provide additional information.

Frederick man arrested after chase

FREDERICK, Md. - The Frederick Police Department arrested a 27-year-old city resident Friday morning following a police chase, police said.

Jesse Lee Wolfe was charged with possession of cocaine, possession of drug paraphernalia, driving under the influence of alcohol, driving while impaired by alcohol, two counts of driving on a suspended license, fleeing and eluding police on foot and in a vehicle, leaving the scene of a property damage accident, reckless and negligent driving and several other traffic violations, police said.


When police tried to stop Wolfe's car during a traffic stop he drove away, police alleged. Police chased him from the area of Scholl's Lane and South Jefferson Street to the 200 block of Braddock Avenue, police said.

He failed to make a curve on Braddock Avenue, went over a curb and ended up in a yard on Norva Avenue, police said.

Wolfe fled on foot but was later arrested, police said.

Police seek person who shot vehicle

CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - Pennsylvania State Police are asking the public to help determine who shot a Nissan Sentra with a BB gun or slingshot, police said Friday.

The victim, Brandt Motors of St. Thomas, Pa., is offering a $100 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the shooter, police said.

The shooting happened between 6 p.m. and midnight Wednesday, police said.

Frederick women charged after fight

FREDERICK, Md. - A Frederick woman was arrested Thursday following a fight during which she is accused of holding a large butcher knife, police said.

Police said the woman, Winifer Renee Coleman, 34, is also accused of trying to get inside another woman's residence.

Coleman was charged with first- and second-degree assault and first- and fourth-degree assault, police said.

She was jailed on $125,000 bond, police said.

30 citations issued at safety checkpoint

The Washington County Sheriff's Department issued 30 citations for seat belt violations this week at seat belt/anti-aggressive driver checkpoints at the Boonsboro school campus, Deputy 1st Class Jim Clay said.

There were four citations for other violations and eight warnings issue between Monday and Friday, Clay said.
