Guidelines-with drug dispositions

September 23, 2002

When a judge suspends a jail term or fine, he can reimpose the penalty if probation is violated.

Judges routinely order defendants to get addiction treatment and education.

Judges may also grant probation before judgment, which keeps the person from having a conviction on his record. If probation is violated, it may be ended and the person would have the conviction on his record.

Judges in Washington County include District Court judges R. Noel Spence and Ralph France; Washington County Circuit Court judges Frederick C. Wright III, John H. McDowell, W. Kennedy Boone and Donald Beachley. The last name of the presiding judge is noted in parentheses following each case listed.

Information on these court proceedings is taken from the official records of the Washington County Circuit and District courts. In some cases, addresses may have changed from the time of the arrest.
