Planetarium show looks at life in space

September 13, 2002

GETTYSBURG, Pa. - A show at Gettysburg College's Hatter Planetarium will examine the possibility of life on other planets.

"Is Anybody Out There? The Search for Extraterrestrial Life" will be presented at 4 and 8 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 15, and is open to the public at no charge. The planetarium is in Masters Hall on the Gettysburg College campus.

Shows focusing on "The Sky this Month" are the first Sunday and Monday of each month through December. The shows detail what people can see from their backyards and present historical sky lore and explanations of today's astronomical headlines.

When time and weather permit, a portable, computerized telescope and a device for safely viewing sunspots are made available for supervised public use after shows. Free shows can also be scheduled for school and community groups.
