After losing the first two games, the North Hagerstown Hubs rallied to win the last three games to edge the Boonsboro Warriors, 13-15, 5-15, 15-6, 15-11, 15-11 on Thursday.

North (1-2) was trailing Boonsboro (2-1) during the deciding fifth game, 3-2, when the Hubs scored 10 unanswered points to take a commanding 12-3 lead. Ashley Saylor and Chrissy Ennis scored five points each for the Hubs during that 10-0 spurt. Shortly thereafter, North sealed the match.

"There is no go-to senior on this team," North coach Marc Cree said. "It is win by committee out there. I think that we needed a win like this after losing to Smithsburg and Williamsport. I'm not completely happy with the way that we played. But the important thing is that if we keep working hard, then we will be okay. We are going to have to play better than what we played tonight."

Sarah Staley had 31 assists and 12 service points, Saylor had 18 service points and seven kills, Sarah Long had 13 kills and nine blocks, Kristina Nash had 14 kills and Ennis added 12 service points for North.

The Hubs led 5-4 in the third game before going on a 10-2 run as Ennis and Saylor got four points each.

North built a 10-3 lead during the fourth game when Staley served for five points in a row.

Caroline Woodhams finished with 18 assists and 16 service points, Kim Snavely hadd 15 service points and seven aces, Sara Beth Williams had nine service points and eight kills, while Sarah Harris had seven kills and five blocks for the Warriors.

"My girls played very hard," Boonsboro coach Wendi Smith said. "I think that we surprised them when we took the first two games from them. I am very pleased with the way that our season is starting out."

JV: Boonsboro, 15-8, 15-1.
