BOONSBORO - The Fort Hill Sentinels dominated the Boonsboro Warriors in almost every phase of the game in a 37-6 victory Saturday night.

Fort Hill got on the scoreboard midway through the first quarter when sophomore halfback Andre Pope ran along the right sideline 24 yards for a touchdown. A few minutes later, Dustin Dawson kicked a 22-yard field goal to extenc the Sentinels' lead to 10-0.

Randy Rice scored on a 5-yard run with 2 minutes, 49 seconds remaining in the second quarter for a 17-0 halftime lead.

"We were down 17-0 at halftime and then we gave up a touchdown on the opening kickoff of the second half," Boonsboro coach Clayton Anders said. "It was an uphill climb for us after that.

"We created too many second opportunities for Fort Hill with poor kick coverage and turnovers. None of our coverage was that good. We just made too many mistakes, but for as bad as it looked, I thinked all of those things can be fixed."

Fort Hill added another third-quarter touchdown on Sean Welsh's 5-yard run, and added its final touchdown with eight minutes left in the fourth quarter when Shawn Miller scored on a 7-yard run.

"We have pretty good skill kids," Fort Hill coach Barry Lattimer said. "We have five or six guys that can run with the football."

The Warriors' only score came with 5:05 left when senior Nathan Himes ran for a 26-yard touchdown.
