Sylvia I. Trail

HANCOCK - Sylvia Irene Trail, 97, of Hancock, died Wednesday, Sept. 4, 2002, at Avalon Manor Nursing Home, Hagerstown.

Born April 12, 1905, in Bedford County, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Wilson and Pauline Smith Clingerman.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Marshall J. Trail, in 2000.

She worked for Hepburn Orchards in Hancock, and for Jacob Brothers as a seamstress.

She attended Faith Temple in Cearfoss.

She is survived by two daughters, Velma Crouse of Big Cove Tannery, Pa., and Miriam Stanchowiski of Clear Spring; four sons, Marshall J. Trail Jr. of Chambersburg, Pa., Allen Clingerman and Merle Trail Sr., both of Hancock, and David Trail of Warfordsburg, Pa.; one sister, Rintha Trail of Berkeley Springs, W.Va.; 22 grandchildren; 39 great-grandchildren and 15 great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by two sons, Donald Trail and Edward Trail; three sisters, Bertha Leasure, Allie Clingerman and Goldie Diehl; and four brothers, Russell Clingerman, Jordan Clingerman, Dewey Clingerman and Nelson Clingerman.

Services will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at Faith Temple, Cearfoss. The Revs. Ronald Lynch and Russell Cheek will officiate.

Burial will be in Piney Plains United Methodist Cemetery, Little Orleans, Md.

The family will receive friends today from 7 to 9 p.m. at Grove Funeral Home, Hancock; and Saturday at 10 a.m. at the church. The funeral home will open today at 5 p.m.




Boyd E. Oyler

MERCERSBURG, Pa. - Boyd E. Oyler, 81, of 12492 Long Lane, died Thursday, Sept. 5, 2002, at Chambersburg (Pa.) Hospital.

Born Dec. 8, 1920, in Chambersburg, he was the son of the late Samuel A. Oyler.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Mabel Straley Oyler.

He operated heavy equipment for Charles E. Brake Co., Rockwell Construction and Haffner Construction Co.

A veteran of World War II, he served in the U.S. Army Air Corps.

He is survived by two sisters, May Pensinger of Chambersburg, and Helen Barnett of Holopaw, Fla.

Services will be Saturday at 2 p.m. at Kelso-Cornelius Funeral Home, St. Thomas, Pa. Dr. W. David Kent will officiate. Burial will be in Stenger Hill Cemetery.

Visitation will be Saturday at 1 p.m. at the funeral home.

Ronald B. Morrow

PADRE ISLAND, Texas - Ronald Bruce Morrow, 44, of Padre Island and formerly of Hagerstown, died Wednesday, Sept. 4, 2002, at his home.

Born March 28, 1958, in Ethiopia, he was the son of George K. and Leah L. Morrow of Mechanicsville, Va.

He was a 1976 graduate of Boonsboro High School.

He owned and operated a HVAC business.

He was a member of CCCA Ducks Unlimited, and Ashrae.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by his wife, Eileen Morrow; one daughter, Emily L. Morrow of Hagerstown; one son, Shane A. Morrow of Hagerstown; two brothers, Gerald G. Morrow of Smithsburg, and Tim Morrow of King William, Va.; and nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be Monday at 2 p.m. at Flour Bluff-Padre Isles Funeral Home.

Keyana L. Seman

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. - Keyana Lou Seman, infant daughter of Amanda Ann Plotner and Andrew Seman, died Wednesday, Sept. 4, 2002, in Morgantown.

In addition to her parents, she is survived by two sisters, Korisha Seman and Koranda Seman, both at home; and grandparents, Allen and Pam Plotner of Kearneysville, W.Va., and Linda and Ciro Mendez of Martinsburg, W.Va.

Graveside services will be today at 3:30 p.m. at Pleasant View Memory Gardens. The Rev. Al Clipp will officiate.

Arrangements are by Brown Funeral Home, Martinsburg.




Catherine E. Waltz

BALTIMORE - Catherine Ellen May Waltz, 81, formerly of Baltimore, died Tuesday, Sept. 3, 2002, at Julia Manor Health Care Center in Hagerstown.

Born Nov. 11, 1920, in Baltimore, she was the daughter of the late Arthur L. and Margaret Runkles Waltz.

She is survived by two sisters, Lacy Smalley of Baltimore, and Louise Layman of Frederick, Md.; and nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by one sister, Evelyn Arnold.

Services will be Saturday at 10 a.m. at Keeney and Basford Funeral Home, Frederick. The Rev. Robert E. Manthey will officiate. Burial will be in Mount Olivet Cemetery, Frederick.

The family will receive friends today from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.




Ronald T. Cook

MARTINSBURG, W.Va. - Ronald T. Cook, 70, of Martinsburg, died Thursday, Sept. 5, 2002, at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center.

Born July 19, 1932, in Martinsburg, he was the son of the late Clay and Cora Lease Cook.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Louise Jordan Cook, on July 23, 2002.

He retired from the Veterans Affairs Medical Center.

He served in the U.S. Army.

He is survived by one daughter, Penny Jones of Bunker Hill, W.Va.; one son, Ronnie E. Cook Sr. of Falling Waters, W.Va.; four grandchildren, Ronnie E. Cook Jr., Jodie N. Cook, Justin A. Jones and Jennifer L. Jones; and nieces and nephews.
