Cops looking for woman facing drug charges

Hagerstown City Police are on the lookout for Rita Rena Foster, who failed to appear on July 17 in Washington County Circuit Court on drug distribution charges.

Foster, 33, is black, 5 feet 6 inches tall, 140 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes, police said.

Her last known address was 138 W. North Ave.

Police investigating strong-arm robbery

CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - Chambersburg Police were investigating a strong-arm robbery that occurred on a borough street Tuesday morning.

A white male assaulted at 29-year-old woman and took money from her shortly after 4 a.m. Tuesday in the area of Conner and West Burkhart avenues, police said.

The man fled the area on foot, police said.

Man charged with fleeing from officers

CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - A man who led Chambersburg Police on a 21-minute chase around the borough was charged with driving under the influence and fleeing and eluding police Tuesday morning, police said.


Police attempted a traffic stop on Dennis W. Crider, 43, of no fixed address, early Tuesday, but he failed to stop, police sad.

He continued driving for 21 minutes until officers apprehended him around 3 a.m. on West Catherine Street, police alleged.

He also was charged with recklessly endangering another person and resisting arrest, police said.

Pedestrian faces drunkenness charge

CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - Chambersburg Police have filed charges against a pedestrian who stepped in the path of an oncoming ambulance last week.

Eric Abney, 27, of 418 S. Main St., was charged with public drunkenness and pedestrian under the influence of alcohol, police said.

Police said the man bolted from the sidewalk on South Second Street into the path of a Marion Fire Co. ambulance at around 6:30 p.m. Wednesday.

The ambulance was taking an injured child to Chambersburg Hospital and its emergency lights and siren were activated.

The rear of the ambulance is believed to have struck the man after he fell on wet pavement, police said.

He was treated at Chambersburg Hospital and taken to Franklin County Prison, police said.

He has since been released, according to a prison official.

Shopping cart squabble leads to charges in Pa.

CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - Two people were cited for harassment Monday following a fight over a shopping cart, Pennsylvania State Police.

Police cited Matthew Hans, of Chambersburg, and Francis Zekanis, of Shippensburg, Pa., after an argument over a shopping cart at the Wal-Mart on Lincoln Way East in Guilford Township.
