Kaufman's Wedding World

FREDERICK, Md. - Kaufman's Wedding World is moving into larger spaces in the Chambersburg Mall in Scotland, Pa., and in the FrederickTowne Mall in Frederick.

The Kaufman's Wedding World stores are branches of the Wedding World stores based in Altoona, Pa. Wedding World has 21 locations in Pennsylvania, Maryland and West Virginia.

Landis Gardner

WAYNESBORO, Pa. - Underwriters Laboratories Inc., an internationally recognized assessment firm, has certified Landis Gardner's Environmental Management System associated with the manufacture of precision cylindrical grinding machines in Waynesboro.

Certification confirms that Landis Gardner's EMS meets or exceeds the industry's established ISO 14001 international environmental protection standard and commits Landis Gardner to the protection of the environment and the conservation of all natural resources.

United Bankshares

United Bankshares Inc. declared a third quarter dividend of 24 cents per share for shareholders of record as of Sept. 13.

This is a 4 percent increase over the 23 cents paid in the second quarter of 2002 and the third quarter of 2001.

Dividends per share of 70 cents for the first three quarters of 2002 represents a 3 percent increase over the 68 cents per share paid for the first three quarters of 2001.

The dividend payout of approximately $10.2 million on 42.4 million shares is payable Oct. 1.
