Suns rained out


Wednesday night's game between the Hagerstown Suns and the Lakewood Blue Claws was postponed due to rain. The game will be made up as part of a doubleheader tonight.

The doubleheader will begin at 6:05, and each game will be seven innings.

Tonight, the Suns will hold "Thirsty Thursday," with dollar drafts and sodas. It will also be Fan Appreciation Night, which was scheduled for Wednesday night, with prizes given away to fans. Because of the rain, the team autograph session scheduled for Wednesday night will not be rescheduled.

St. James 2, Goretti 1

ST. JAMES - Dan Park scored a goal on an assist from Dunmola Olanrewaju with two minutes left in the game to lift St. James to a season-opening victory over visiting St. Maria Goretti Wednesday.

St. James, which trailed 1-0 with 11 minutes remaining, tied it on Matt Marriott's unassisted goal. Saints goalie Ali Smith made 10 saves.

For Goretti, which outshot St. James 26-14, Steve Costello scored a goal on an assist from David Savino while keeper Patrick McCullough had 12 saves.
