Century 21 M.G. Realty in Hagerstown recognizes Rich Newman for his performance in July.

Newman, who has been with Century 21 for two years, closed $1 million in residential and commercial sales during the month.

F&M Bancorp

F&M Bancorp announces the following personnel moves:

-- Daniel Mangan has joined Farmers & Mechanics Bank as portfolio manager in the commercial real estate division. His territory includes Frederick, Montgomery, and Howard counties.

Mangan holds a bachelor's degree from the University of Maryland and is nearing completion of his M.B.A. at Frostburg State University. He has more than 10 years of banking and commercial real estate experience.


-- Steve W. Hose, financial adviser of the wealth management group for Home Federal, was recently named assistant vice president.

Hose received his bachelor's degree in business administration from Shippensburg University, and is currently working on his M.B.A. at Hood College. He has 10 years in the financial/banking industry, has extensive sales management training and is licensed with NASD's Series 7 and 65, as well as health, life and casualty insurance licenses.

Christopher R. Walter, a registered representative with INVEST Financial Corp., has earned membership in PLANCO's 2002 Captain's Club.

Walter earned membership in the Captain's Club by producing more than $1 million in sales of investment and insurance products.

Bodyworks Massage Center

Martin Chamberlain has joined the staff at the Bodyworks Massage Center.

Chamberlain, who will do outcalls and corporate on-site seated massage, practices Swedish, myofacial and deep-tissue massage, and also has training in zero balancing therapy.

Chamberlain is a member of the Maryland chapter of the American Massage Therapy Association, and is a 1996 graduate of the Baltimore School of Massage.

Five mechanics at Beaver Mechanical Contractors have recently been certified to install medical gas and vacuum systems.

WAYNESBORO, Pa. -Pamela S. Senz, patient account manager at Waynesboro Hospital, recently achieved her Certified Patient Account Manager credential through The American Association of Healthcare Administrative Management.

The certification requires a knowledge of all areas of patient accounting, including admission/registration, billing, credit/collections and accounts receivable management.

The First National Bank of Greencastle

GREENCASTLE, Pa. -Duane Bock, a loan officer at The First National Bank of Greencastle, recently completed course work for the Central Atlantic School of Banking.

The school was conducted in June by the Pennsylvania Bankers Association at Dickinson College in Carlisle, Pa.

Bankers who attended the one-week school received instruction in human resources management, bank management, marketing, lending and other bank services.

Butch Cazin was the top seller, top lister and the agent with the most new listings.

FREDERICK, Md. - Phillip Riley has earned the honor of membership in the Million Dollar Round Table's Court of the Table for Thrivent Financial for Lutherans.

The Million Dollar Round Table is an independent association of leading life insurance providers. About 3,000 MDRT members qualify for the Court of the Table each year.

Riley is a financial associate with Thrivent's Virginia and Maryland Regional Financial Office, which is based in Chantilly, Va., and serves Lutherans and their family members.

Thrivent Financial for Lutherans is a new insurance organization formed through the merger of Aid Association for Lutherans and Lutheran Brotherhood.

Allegany College

CUMBERLAND, Md. - Barry Ronan has been named to the board of trustees of Allegany College of Maryland.

Ronan fills the vacancy created by the retirement of former chairman Ivan A. Hall. He will serve the remaining four years of Hall's six-year term.

Ronan has been president and chief executive officer of the Western Maryland Health System since January 2000. The also serves on the health system's board of directors.
