He was preceded in death by one son, Neil D. MacMichael; and one sister, Florence McCoy.
Services will be Monday at 5 p.m. at Rest Haven Funeral Chapel, Hagerstown. The Rev. Don Campbell will officiate. A reception will follow at the funeral home.
The family will receive friends Sunday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral chapel.

Lois E. Staley
BOONSBORO -Lois Elaine Staley, 59, of 20 Young Ave., died Monday, Aug. 19, 2002, at her home.
Born Oct. 26, 1942, in Hagerstown, she was the daughter of the late Edwin T. and Amy T. Keadle Staley.
She was a 1960 graduate of South Hagerstown High School, and a 1964 graduate of Ashland (Ohio) College.
She taught at Floris Elementary School in Herndon, Va., for 30 years, retiring in 1997.
She was a member of First Brethren Church in Hagerstown.
She was a member of Reston (Va.) Chorale; Hagerstown Choral Arts; TOPS; and Elder Hostel.
She is survived by two sisters, Harriet W. Ridenour of Hagerstown and Helen F. Haupt of Boonsboro; one brother, Edwin K. Staley of Beaver Creek; one niece; three nephews; four great-nieces; four great-nephews; one great-great-niece and one great-great-nephew.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
Marvin L. Mellott
Marvin Lee Mellott, 64, of 13253 Maugansville Road, Hagerstown, died Wednesday, Aug. 21, 2002, at his home.
Born March 11, 1938, in Baltimore, he was the son of the late Ernest and Lucy Mellott.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Charlotte J. Mellott, in 1996.
He was employed as a roofer.
He was a Protestant.
He is survived by one stepdaughter, Carolyn Campbell of Way Cross, Ga.; and four step-grandchildren.
Graveside services will be today at 1 p.m. at Rose Hill Cemetery. The Rev. Raymond J. Barger Jr. will officiate.
There will be no viewing.
Arrangements are by Minnich Funeral Home, East Wilson Boulevard, Hagerstown.
Ralph E. Shifler
Ralph Elwood Shifler, 76, of 17529 Virginia Ave., Hagerstown, died Thursday, Aug. 22, 2002, at Washington County Hospital.
Born April 6, 1926, in Boonsboro, he was the son of the late Ralph and Vera Nunamaker Shifler.
He was employed by Fairchild Aircraft; and by Doubleday and Co., retiring after 15 years.
A veteran of World War II, he served in the U.S. Navy.
He was a member of Benevola United Methodist Church.
He was a member of Hagerstown AMVETS Post 10 and AARP.
He is survived by his wife, Leah Kathleen Shifler, whom he married April 26, 1947; one daughter, Candy S. Appleby of Greencastle, Pa.; one son, Greg Shifler of Hagerstown; one sister, Elizabeth Socks of Williamsport; two granddaughters; three nieces; one nephew; one great-niece and three great-nephews.
Services will be Monday at 10:30 a.m. at Bast Funeral Home, Boonsboro. The Rev. Darrell L. Layman will officiate. Burial will be in Boonsboro Cemetery.
The family will receive friends Sunday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home, which will open at noon.

Evelyn M. Wolfe
Evelyn Marie Wolfe, 61, of 1027 Florida Ave., Hagerstown, died Thursday, Aug. 22, 2002, at Washington County Hospital.
Born Feb. 15, 1941, in Wolfsville, she was the daughter of the late Joseph W. and Pearl E. Williard.
She was employed by Ringer's Laundry and Martin's Food Store.
She is survived by her husband, James Wolfe; five daughters, Ruth Gorman of Greencastle, Pa., Loretta Brown of Waynesboro,Pa., and Kitty L. Fox, Teresa M. Fox and Gloria Domer, all of Hagerstown; one son, James E. Fox Jr. of Hagerstown; one sister, Pauline Moser of Hagerstown; one brother, Charles Williard of Martinsburg, W.Va.; eight grandchildren; and her caregiver, Jamie Pearson of Hagerstown.
