Civil War exhibit opens

In conjunction with the 140th anniversary of the Battle of Antietam and J.E.B. Stuart's second ride around McClellan, the Washington County Museum of Fine Arts will mount an exhibition of Civil War photos and memorabilia. Continues through Sunday, Nov. 10. The Washington County Arts Council Gallery hosts Mixed Multi-Media, known as M3, a program that involves music, poetry and the visual arts on the second Friday of each month. Shepherdstown Drum Ensemble and photographer Bruce Wilder will be featured Sept. 13. The program includes poetry and short fiction readings by regional authors, a brief discussion of the photos and a concert of acoustic music. Free. Light refreshments will be served.
