Juanita M. Young

KEEDYSVILLE - Juanita Mae McCoy Young, 77, of 4227 Chestnut Grove Road, died Tuesday, Aug. 20, 2002, at her home.

Born May 10, 1925, in Antietam Furnace, she was the daughter of the late Otho Agusta and May Elizabeth Marshall McCoy.

Her husband, Raymond Elwood Young Sr., died May 24, 2002.

She was a homemaker.

She was a member of Mount Briar Church of God and the Willing Workers.

She is survived by two daughters, Donna Kay Farrie and Melissa Ann Swartz, both of Mount Briar, Md.; two sons, Raymond E. Young Jr. of Mount Briar and Randy Allen Young of Keithsville, La.; 13 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by four sisters, Mary Hammond, Alice Jones, Margie Jones and Annabelle Dobson; and two brothers, Arthur McCoy and Thuryle McCoy.

Services will be Friday at 2 p.m. at Bast Funeral Home in Boonsboro. The Rev. Joseph C. Burdette Sr. will officiate. Burial will be in Boonsboro Cemetery.

The family will receive friends Thursday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Memorial donations may be made to Hospice of Washington County, 101 E. Baltimore St., Hagerstown, MD 21740; or to American Cancer Society, Washington County Unit, 1037 Haven Road, Hagerstown, MD 21742.




Annie M. Keefer

FAYETTEVILLE, Pa. Annie M. "Ann" Taylor Keefer, 78, of Beverly Health Care, and formerly of 9 Reynolds Ave., Mont Alto, Pa., died Monday, Aug. 19, 2002, at Chambersburg (Pa.) Hospital.

Born March 9, 1924, in Waycross, Ga., she was the daughter of the late Leston and Minnie Maryanne Weathers Taylor.

Her husband, Robert L. "Bob" Keefer, died Jan. 16, 2002. They were married Nov. 6, 1943.

She was a homemaker, and was employed at the Carrol Shoe Co. in Mont Alto as a production line worker and an inspector.

She was a member of William Max McLaughlin VFW Post 695 Ladies Auxiliary, Waynesboro, Pa.

She is survived by one daughter, Martha A. Dantin of Chokoloskee, Fla.; one son, Richard L. Keefer; six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren and seven great-great-grandchildren.

Services will be Thursday at 2 p.m. at Grove-Bowersox Funeral Home, Waynesboro. Her son-in-law, the Rev. Morris J. Dantin, will officiate. Burial will be in Mount Zion Cemetery near Quincy, Pa.

The family will receive friends Thursday at 1 p.m. at the funeral home.

Harold E. Forsythe

Harold Eugene Forsythe, 55, of 16906 Warbler Court, Hagerstown, died Sunday, Aug. 18, 2002, at Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center in Baltimore.

Born June 21, 1947, in Baltimore, he was the son of the late Maurice Elwood and Beulah Mae Penwell Forsythe.

He was of the Methodist faith.

He is survived by his wife, Linda P. Forsythe, whom he married May 6, 1967; one daughter, Linda Lee Forsythe of Baltimore; one sister, Nancy Lee Rauth of Hagerstown; and two grandchildren.

Graveside services will be Thursday at noon at Rose Hill Cemetery in Hagerstown. The Rev. Allen W. Boyer will officiate.

The family will receive friends Thursday at 11 a.m. at Andrew K. Coffman Funeral Home, Hagerstown.




Zebulon T. DeHart

SMITHSBURG - Zebulon T. "Bob" DeHart, 83, of Douglas Court West, who died Thursday, Aug. 15, 2002, in Waterboro, S.C., is survived by one daughter, Nancy Nichols of McConnellsburg, Pa., and was preceded in death by one daughter, Charlotte St. Clair.




Caroline B. Noll

MARTINSBURG, W.Va. - Caroline Bemis Noll, 85, of Martinsburg, died Tuesday, Aug. 20, 2002, at her home.

Born Dec. 3, 1916, in Toms Brook, Va., she was the daughter of the late Clarence M. and Roberta Copenhaber Bemis.

She was a member of Calvary United Methodist Church.

She is survived by her husband, Earl C. Noll; and one brother, Harry Bemis of Woodstock, Va.

She was preceded in death by one daughter, Donalda Noll.

Graveside services will be held at a later date in Rosedale Cemetery.

Arrangements are by Brown Funeral Home in Martinsburg.




Mabel C. Mentzer

VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. - Mabel C. Brewbaker Mentzer, 96, of 3038 Bray Road, and formerly of 8973 Mentzer Gap Road in Waynesboro, Pa., died Friday, Aug. 16, 2002, at Sentara Nursing Center in Virginia Beach.

Born Dec. 13, 1905 in Waynesboro, she was the daughter of the late Harvey Cleveland and Grace Elizabeth Spangler Brewbaker.

Her husband, Jay K. Mentzer, died March 11, 1983. They were married in 1936.

She was a 1928 graduate of Lebanon Valley College.

She was a teacher at Gap School, Quincy High School and taught first grade at Mont Alto (Pa.) Elementary School for 20 years until she retired in 1971.

She was a member of Otterbein United Brethren in Christ Church and the Ladies Aid Society and taught the Sunday school class for 4-year-olds.

She was a member of the National Education Association and World Vision.

She is survived by one daughter, Grace M. Wellman of Virginia Beach; one granddaughter, Dr. Jennifer Stobbe; and one grandson, Chad Wellman.

She was preceded in death by two sisters, Mary Louise Dubbs and Elmira Zeigler.
