Annie M. Keefer

FAYETTEVILLE, Pa. Annie M. "Ann" Taylor Keefer, 78, of Beverly Health Care, and formerly of 9 Reynolds Ave., Mont Alto, Pa., died Monday, Aug. 19, 2002, at Chambersburg (Pa.) Hospital.

Born March 9, 1924, in Waycross, Ga., she was the daughter of the late Leston and Minnie Maryanne Weathers Taylor.

Her husband, Robert L. "Bob" Keefer, died Jan. 16, 2002. They were married Nov. 6, 1943.

She was a homemaker, and was employed at the Carrol Shoe Co. in Mont Alto as a production line worker and an inspector.

She was a member of William Max McLaughlin VFW Post 695 Ladies Auxiliary, Waynesboro, Pa.

She is survived by one daughter, Martha A. Dantin of Chokoloskee, Fla.; one son, Richard L. Keefer; six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren and seven great-great-grandchildren.

Services will be Thursday at 2 p.m. at Grove-Bowersox Funeral Home, Waynesboro. Her son-in-law, the Rev. Morris J. Dantin, will officiate. Burial will be in Mount Zion Cemetery near Quincy, Pa.

The family will receive friends Thursday at 1 p.m. at the funeral home.

Saundra G. Levick

CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - Saundra G. Levick, 44, of 4460 Persy Ave., and formerly of Waynesboro, Pa., died Monday, Aug. 19, 2002, at her home.

Born Oct. 18, 1957, in Waynesboro, Pa., she was the daughter of Pauline E. Woods Levick of Waynesboro, and the late Thomas W. Levick.

She was a 1979 graduate of Franklin County Learning Center, Chambersburg.

She was employed by Occupational Services Inc. in Chambersburg since 1979.

She was currently living at the home operated by Family Care Services Inc.

She was a member of Fetterhoff Chapel United Methodist Church.

She was a member of the Association for Retarded Citizens of Franklin and Fulton Counties.

In addition to her mother, she is survived by one sister, Sharon Kriechbaum of Waynesboro; her stepgrandmother, Edna Woods of Chambersburg; one niece; and aunts, uncles and cousins.

Services will be Thursday at 11 a.m. at Grove-Bowersox Funeral Home, Waynesboro. The Rev. Robert L. Basom will officiate. Burial will be in Green Hill Cemetery, Waynesboro.

The family will receive friends Thursday at 10 a.m. at the funeral home.

Edith H. Lovelace

CHARLES TOWN, W.Va. - Edith Hallie Lovelace, 78, of Charles Town, died Sunday, Aug. 18, 2002, at Jefferson Memorial Hospital, Ranson, W.Va.

Born Dec. 5, 1923, in Montrose, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late Omer and Mary Dell Vanscoy Flanagan.

She was employed in the mutual department at Charles Town Races.

She was of the Pentecostal faith.

She is survived by her husband, Edgar E. Lovelace; two daughters, Louise Hampson of Charles Town, and Carole Strumsky of Finksburg, Md.; one son, Thomas Bailey Jr. of San Diego; three sisters, Ellen Strahin of Thomas, W.Va., Cora Orlando of Kearneysville, W.Va., and Freta Hill of Delaware; eight grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by three sisters and three brothers.

Services will be Wednesday at 10 a.m. at Melvin T. Strider Colonial Funeral Home, Charles Town. Pastor Mike Withem will officiate. Burial will be in Meadow Ridge Memorial Park Cemetery, Elkridge, Md.

The family will receive friends today from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.




Jerry E. Nigh

MERCERSBURG, Pa. Jerry Ellis Nigh, 69, of Mercersburg, died Saturday, Aug. 17, 2002, in Hagerstown.

Born Aug. 20, 1932, in Hagers-town, he was the son of Audrey Mullendore Grove of Hagerstown, and the late Ray Ellis Nigh.

His wife, Gloria Jeorge Nigh, died June 3, 2002.

He owned and operated Hagers-townian House of Hair.

A veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps, he served during the Korean War.

He was a member of the American Legion, Mercersburg.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by one son, David Nigh of Hagerstown; one sister, Judy Nigh of Laurel, Md.; and one brother, Jay Nigh of Hagerstown.

A memorial service will be Sunday at 1 p.m. at Minnich Funeral Home, 415 E. Wilson Blvd., Hagers-town.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home Sunday at noon.

Kenneth L. Gilbert

JEFFERSON, Md. - Kenneth Leon Gilbert, 76, of 5521 Broad Run Road, died Sunday, Aug. 18, 2002, at Frederick (Md.) Memorial Hospital.

Born Dec. 3, 1925, in Woodsboro, Md., he was the son of the late Raymond and Esta Mae Gilbert.

He owned Hillside Liquors in Knoxville, and formerly owned K.L. Gilbert Plumbing and Electrical in Jefferson.

A veteran of the U.S. Navy, he served during World War II.

He was a member of Maryland Liquor Store Association and Frederick County Plumbers.

He is survived by his wife, June Zecker Gilbert; one niece and two great-nieces.
