Hagerstown Community College's Center for Continuing Education will offer a 96-hour training course in property and casualty insurance beginning in September.

The course will be offered on Monday and Wednesday evenings from 5:30 to 9:30 p.m. beginning Sept. 9. Virginia Bentz, who has worked in insurance in the Hagerstown area for 40 years, will teach the course.

The course is designed for those who would like to start a career in the insurance industry, but would like to train while maintaining their current jobs. It differs from most property and casualty insurance courses in that it does not require self-study or on-the-job training.

The course is required for those who wish to take the Maryland Property and Casualty Insurance Examination.
