Learn to prepare for emergencies

A Citizens' Emergency Preparedness Day will be held Saturday, Aug. 17, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Robinwood Medical Center, 11110 Medical Campus Road, Hagerstown. Use the green, yellow or orange entrance.

Workshops will be held from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. They are: 9 a.m., CPR, to register, call 1-240-313-2930; 9:30 a.m., Emergency Alerting System severe weather; 10 a.m., family disaster kit planning; 10 a.m., children's workshop; 10:30 a.m., sheltering/evacuation; 11 a.m., quaranteen/isolation; 12:30 p.m., chemical safety; 1 p.m., first aid, to register, call 240-313-2930; 1 p.m., children's workshop; 1:30 p.m., pets/emergency preparedness; 2 p.m., special needs, consider this; 2:30 p.m., family disaster kit planning.

The Robin's Nest Restaurant will be open to purchase food and drink throughout the day.
