GOLF



Steve Finelli and Ric Dugan, of the Herald-Mail II team, shot a 1-over 73 on Tuesday to win the WACO Media Open by one shot over Sue Mirk and Mark Malone, of WCRH II. It is the second time in three years that Finelli and Dugan have won the media tournament.

Dave Elliott won the closest to the pin competition, while Sean Lewis won the longest drive competition.

Also, Jim Grumbine, Vic Campbell, Brian Crabtree, Marty Miller and Larry Mackereth survived a 15-player playoff to qualify for Thursday's Chi-Chi Shootout.

East Frederick 9, Frederick National 3: Michael Burks had three hits and three RBI for East Frederick. Zach Jones hit a three-run triple. For Frederick National, Brandon Kline had three hits and Corey Wood had two hits.

Josy Seabright, of Boonsboro, aced the par-3, 67-yard fourth hole at Yingling's Golf Center using a five-iron. Her husband, Jerry Seabright, witnessed the shot.

Suns' 'Wet Wednesday'


The Hagerstown Suns will host "Wet Wednesday" today for the 7 p.m. game against the Columbus RedStixx.
