Share-A-Haircut campaign is underway

August 06, 2002

Hair Cuttery has partnered with Washington County Department of Social Services in Washington County for the 2002 "Share-A-Haircut" campaign benefiting underprivileged children. The local goal of this national program, which runs through Aug. 15, is to donate 50 free haircuts to help children get ready for the coming school year.

For every child up to age 18, who purchases a haircut between now and Aug. 15 at any Hair Cuttery salon in Washington County, the company will donate a free haircut to children served by Social Services. After the conclusion of the campaign, individual certificates/vouchers for free haircuts will be distributed to the children, which will be valid until Oct. 31.

The program is designed to increase kids' self-esteem by giving them an opportunity to feel confident about the way they look before they head back to school.
