Suns fall

KANNAPOLIS, N.C. - The Kannapolis Intiminadtors hit three home runs Sunday while earning a four-game split with the Hagerstown Suns with a 10-4 victory.

Kannapolis took an 8-0 lead before Kevin Alexander hit a two-run single for Hagerstown in the fourth inning.

Julian Benavidez and Tyler Von Schell also had RBI for Hagerstown (50-63, 16-27 in second half of South Atlantic League) while Branden Florence, Robbie Meyer and Von Schell each had two hits.

Petersen Benjamin (1-5) allowed six earned runs, eight overall, in 2 1/3 innings. Brian Burress allowed two earned runs and struck out six in 5 2/3 innings.

The Suns return to Municipal Stadium tonight, beginning an eight-game homestand with a four-game set against the Columbus (Ga.) RedStixx.
